Cake with cherries

Ingredients:
  • 3 medium-sized eggs
  • 1 cup sugar (200g)
  • 100 ml oil
  • 1 cup yogurt (240g)
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 2 cups flour (250g)
  • 400g cherries
  • Powdered sugar for dusting and a few sliced almonds.

Instructions:
  • Remove the pits from the cherries and cut them into halves.
  • In a bowl, combine the eggs, sugar, and vanilla. Mix for about 2 minutes.
  • Gradually add the oil in a thin stream, then add the yogurt with the well-activated baking soda.
  • Add the sifted flour and mix until you achieve a not-too-thick batter.
  • Gently fold in the cherries.
  • Bake in a preheated oven at 160°C (320°F) for about 30 minutes.
  • Serve dusted with powdered sugar and optionally topped with sliced almonds.
